I'm currently a PhD student at the MIT Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research, advised by Prof. Kiyoshi Masui. My research mainly focuses on using radio telescopes to study the evolution of the universe. The questions I think about include:
- What is the nature of dark energy that is driving the expansion of the universe?
- What kind of signature did inflation imprint on the large-scale structures of the universe today?
- How did the first stars form and affect the environment of the universe?
- How are baryons distributed outside of galaxies, and how can we observe them?
- Can we learn about galaxy formation from the baryon distribution in the universe?
Recent data from 21 cm intensity mapping experiments and fast radio bursts (FRBs) measurements are highly promising to answer these questions. However, there are still challenges to overcome for these experiments. The cosmological 21 cm signal is outshined by the foreground emissions from the Milky Way, making the detection difficult. I have developed a new class of foreground removal algorithm called Hybrid Foreground Residual Subtraction (HyFoReS) to overcome this challenge (see arXiv:2203.07184 and arXiv:2408.08949). To advance FRB cosmology, along with my undergraduate mentee and graduate student colleague, I have developed simulations to cross-correlate FRB dispersion measure with galaxy surveys using IllustrisTNG to probe the intergalactic medium electron distribution.
My past work includes helioseismology with Dr. Edward Rhodes and pulsar timing array with Dr. Stephen Taylor and Dr. Michele Vallisneri (see arXiv:1904.05355).
I'm a member of the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment (CHIME).
